Congratulations to Canyon High School student-athletes Morgan Cornelison, Kendyl Fay, Derek Ingle, and Landon Wade.

Morgan Cornelison- Swimming

University of Laverne

Morgan Cornelison has been a part of the Canyon Swim and Water Polo teams all four years at Canyon. She is a two year varsity swimmer who will be attending the University of Laverne on an academic scholarship and will be majoring in Elementary Education. Morgan has excelled in the classroom, and has been recognized as a Scholar Athlete. She has been awarded Student of the Month, and has completed the Education Pathway at Canyon. Morgan’s favorite memory at Canyon was making Tik Toks before every swim meet and thinking they would go viral. Morgan’s Dad, Mom, Stepmom, and Stepdad are all here to support her today. Morgan would like to give a special thanks to Coach A for having faith in her, her teammates for always cheering her on no matter what she was swimming, and her parents for always being her #1 supporters throughout her life.

Kendyl Fay- Dance

University of Tennessee

Kendyl Fay has been a 3 year member of the Varsity Song team. She will be dancing at the University of Tennessee where she will be majoring in Advertising. Kendyl has been the Dance Company Captain, a USA Dance Star winner, and has been recognized as Song Rookie of the Year, Dance Company Breakout Choreographer, Dance Company MVP, and Song MVP. In addition to her incredible dance achievements, Kendyl is also an incredible student who has been recognized as Top of the Tribe, and has been a scholar athlete all 4 years carrying a 4.4 GPA. Kendyl’s favorite memory at Canyon was going to Florida for song nationals with her best friends. Kendyl’s whole family is here and she would like to thank them all for being there for her throughout this college process and her whole dance career! Also, she wants to say thank you to Coach Rocky and Mrs. Greene for guiding her these past four years. Finally Kendyl wants to thank her wonderful teammates and best friends, she says, “I will miss you all so much.”

Derek Ingle- Lacrosse

Utah Valley University

Derek Ingle is a 4 year varsity defender for the Canyon Lacrosse team. He will be attending Utah Valley University on an academic scholarship and will be majoring in Business Accounting. Derek is a team captain and has been a 3 year varsity starter at Canyon. Derek is also a phenomenal student who has been recognized as a Scholar Athlete and Top of the Tribe, and has also been a 2 year member of Canyon’s Athletic Council. Derek’s favorite memory at Canyon was going to In-n-Out after games with his teammates. Derek would like to give a special thanks to his Mom and Dad for all of their support. Derek also wants to thank his high school coaches – Coach Trusso, Garett, and Jesse, and his Stags Club Coaches – Coach Lacy and Coach Henderson.

Landon Wade- Football

George Fox University

Landon Wade is a 3 year Varsity Linebacker for Canyon’s football team. He will be attending George Fox University on academic scholarships and will be Majoring in Business Management. Landon has been a 4 year Team Captain and has been recognized as First Team All League and Defensive Player of the Year. In addition to his athletic accomplishments Landon has also excelled in the classroom where he has been recognized as Top of the Tribe and Scholar Athlete and has also been the Football Representative on the Athletic Council. Landon’s favorite memory at Canyon was beating Beckman this year and the team trip to Arizona. Landon’s mom, dad, and sister are here to support him today, and he would like to give a special thank you to all of his family and friends for their love and support and to his coaches and teammates that pushed him to reach his goals of playing college football.
